In Traditional Chinese Medicine Joint pain is due to stasis of Qi and blood typically presenting with symptoms of severe boring, drilling pan in fixed location that is better for heat worse for cold, limited movement of joints, some swelling but not local redness or heat and possible loose stools.
Other indications are joint pain and numbness of the extremities cold pain in back and knees with limited range of motion of affected joints, numbness – worse during rainy days. There may also be migrating pain and soreness of one or multiple joints that typically affects elbow, knee, wrist, ankle and an aversion to wind cold.
